Oregon State University Dept. of Horticulture Courses with information on the web: . A number of courses are featured on this web site including plant id courses. Information includes pictures and descriptions of the plants, some of which are hardy in our area, but not all.
University of Connecticut Plant Database: . Database of trees, shrubs and vines with great color photos. Can search database based on criteria entered.
University of Illinois Plants: Database of trees, shrubs, vines, evergreens with pictures of leaves, twigs, buds, bark, flowers, fruit and form.
The Ohio State University PlantFacts Plant List: Database of woody and herbaceous plants including annuals, bulbs, ferns, grasses and wildflowers
UWEX Urban Horticulture News: This web site has numerous extension publications on urban horticulture topics including woody ornamentals.
Allen Centennial Gardens: This web site has lots of great pictures of this garden, which is located right on campus. Great place to work!
Olbrich Botanical Gardens: It is a great garden right here in town. I highly suggest you visit this wonderful garden as they have most of the plants that we cover along with many, many herbaceous perennials. They also have internships!
University of Wisconsin Arboretum: . This web site has information about their ecological restoration efforts and plant communities located in the arboretum.
Chicago Botanic Garden: This web site has numerous horticulture information including positions at this wonderful garden on the north side of Chicago.
The Morton Arboretum: This web site has horticulture information and positions open at this large and beautiful arboretum on the southwest side of Chicago.
Minnesota Landscape Arboretum: This web site has horticulture information and highlights of this great arboretum in the twin cities area
American Horticultural Society: This web site has information about this great society. Once a member, you receive a number of benefits from discounts at participating gardens and arboreta, to the monthly magazine, the American Gardener.
Wisconsin Green Industry Federation: This web site has information for its members and nonmembers including legislative issues and job postings. WGIF is an umbrella group representing seven participating organizations. The WGIF is also a co sponsor of the Mid-America Horticultural Trade Show in January, before classes start.
Wisconsin Arborist Association: This web site has lots of great tree information for members and nonmembers including certified arborists for hire by county.
International Society of Arboriculture Consumer Information: This web site has consumer information brochures on various tree care topics
